With over two decades of experience as a Visual Artist and Educator, Charlene Attard, a proud third-generation local, is deeply devoted to the Mackay Region. Starting her artistic journey in her youth, Charlene pursued formal studies in Visual Art and Education, shaping her passion into a lifelong commitment. Her artistic expression spans diverse mediums, aiming to convey subtle layers of meaning beyond realism. Actively engaging in exhibitions and community arts events, she also imparts inspiration and artistic skill to her students. In the colder months, Charlene transforms a yurt marquee on her farm ‘The Brae’ in Netherdale into an art studio, offering picturesque valley views for art workshops across various mediums. Her work explores portraiture and the cherished landscapes of her childhood, capturing the essence of the region she holds close to her heart.
